You can love Klout, you can hate Klout, but above all you can tweak Klout. My score oscillates between 54 and 56, and if I know I need a better score in a day of two, I know what to post where.

There are people with a higher score than I have who don't 'deserve' it. There are people with a lower score who are more important than I am. I love Klout because I like to tweak things, I hate Klout because by tweaking it, I discover things I don't like. Now they're announcing the release of an update of the scoring system that will make Klout scores more accurate and easy to understand. Let's wait and see if they can meet my expectations.
