Sometimes you don't enter a contest to win (because you know the other competitors are miles ahead of yourself), but you participate because you do have something to be proud about.
That's why I registered for "The Coolest Office in Belgium". I know that iText Software can't compete with offices of companies that have dozens of employees and that have constructed or renovated a new building for their companies, but I like what we've done with iText HQ in Sint-Amandsberg and with the iText Dev Shack in Ghent.
And when I look at the other offices, I don't have any feelings of envy. I only feel determination: we already have cool office space today, but we'll have even cooler office rooms tomorrow ;-)
